CrowdRiff welcomes former Facebook growth lead Joelle Maslaton to Board of Directors

Today CrowdRiff, an AI-powered visual content marketing platform purpose-built for travel and tourism brands, announced that Joelle Maslaton, Vice-President and Venture Partner at Gibraltar & Company, has joined its Board of Directors. Prior to joining Gibraltar & Company, Maslaton spent six years working at Facebook and Instagram. At Instagram, she led the global revenue growth efforts of Stories, Instagram’s fastest growing product. In her new role, Maslaton will advise CrowdRiff as the company expands its service offerings, widens its customer profile, and continues to scale.

“At CrowdRiff, our main focus is helping brands elevate their marketing and advertising efforts by making it easy to source and implement top quality, high performing visuals. Joelle’s experience at Facebook and Instagram, and her expertise in digital innovation and social media strategy, make her an incredible addition to our Board of Directors,” said Dan Holowack, CEO and co-founder of CrowdRiff. “We’re excited to work more closely with Joelle toward the continued growth and success of our company.”

A brand builder with over 15 years of experience working with some of Canada’s top technology platforms, consumer goods companies and ad agencies, Maslaton has spent her career driving clients’ growth through the application of innovative, omni-channel digital marketing solutions for companies including L’Oréal and Shiseido Canada.

“I have been an admirer of CrowdRiff for its innovative and ground-breaking travel platform, its deeply passionate leaders, and its people-driven culture,” said Maslaton. “I have tremendous respect for the founders, Dan and Abhi, as well for the other board members, and I am thrilled to embark on this exciting journey with them.”

Gibraltar & Company participated in CrowdRiff’s 2016 seed funding round of $2 million USD, and has an impressive track record and portfolio that includes Sheerly Genius, Pressly (acquired by Vision Critical, 2017), Spotify (IPO, 2018), and Globalive XMG (acquired by CivicConnect, 2016). CrowdRiff is also backed by High Alpha Capital and BDC Capital.

Since raising its last financing round, CrowdRiff has announced several new company milestones and service offerings. Most recently, the company was named to the 2018 Startup 50 ranking of Canada’s Top New Growth Companies, joined the Instagram Partner Program as one of its first travel-focused Creative Platforms, and announced that it surpassed 400 clients spanning 22 countries.
