Toronto, ON – May 31, 2021 – CrowdRiff, the leading visual marketing platform for travel and tourism brands, announced and welcomed Alexander Schwertner as VP of Products.
Schwertner brings 17 years of experience in management leadership roles, conceiving product strategies, scaling up businesses, and managing products and organizations through growth and change. He previously held executive-level positions at 500px, a global online photo-sharing platform, and Tucows, an internet service and telecommunications company.
At 500px, Schwertner transformed a leading photography community into a product-driven organization, focused on growing a freemium membership model and licensing royalty revenue by creating value for users.
As VP of Products at CrowdRiff, he will leverage his rich experience to lead the streamlining of CrowdRiff’s multiple products—the UGC and DAM solutions, Story Network, and Localhood—to create deeper value for their growing worldwide audience of destination marketers.
"We’re very excited to have Alex on board. His depth of product experience across enterprise, consumer, and community platforms paired with his management experience will be instrumental for CrowdRiff’s next phase of growth. Travel demand is ready to take off again and CrowdRiff is taking every step possible to empower our customers through continuous innovation," said Dan Holowack, CEO and Co-Founder, CrowdRiff.
In addition to bringing Alex on board, CrowdRiff is doubling the size of its product and engineering organization this year. This includes a new mobile team that will be focused on Stories, a solution that has already been adopted by several of CrowdRiff’s leading customers and partners.
“I’m incredibly excited to be at CrowdRiff. This is a critical time for the travel and tourism industry and I’m looking forward to helping CrowdRiff deliver on the vision to make travel good for the people and the planet,” said Schwertner.
