Cadillac Area Visitors Bureau Charts a New Course in Visitor Experience with CrowdRiff Maps

It’s always exciting to hear from CrowdRiff users about the innovative ways they’re leveraging our platform to tell their destination’s story. Recently, we had the pleasure of speaking with Lindsey Westdorp, Marketing Manager for the Cadillac Area Visitors Bureau (CAVB), and were thrilled to learn about her experience using CrowdRiff Maps.

Lindsey’s been with the CAVB for a long time, starting as a contractor for 10 years before joining as a full-time employee in 2022. “I worked as a contract employee for the CAVB with my own digital marketing agency. When the bureau migrated to CrowdRiff in 2019, I was a part of that onboarding process with them,” she said.

Navigating the Tech Landscape

Lindsey’s passion for her work shines through as she describes the rewarding challenge of staying ahead in digital marketing. “The advancements in technology have been overwhelming at times,” she admits, “but lately, AI tools are creating efficiencies that remind me of the early days of Facebook, a time of endless possibilities.” This drive to leverage resources and support local hospitality partners fuels her daily work.

Maps Made Easy

After learning about the new Maps feature, Lindsey was immediately impressed. “I was expecting to have to learn a new tool, but it was so intuitive,” she recalls. “Everything about it was easy to set up and customize. A while back, we did subscribe to a paid widget that had a similar capability, but there is even more flexibility and potential with this feature and so I think we may be able to save money in other areas as well by using this tool instead!”While finalizing a blog post for Caddy’s Spring Jeep Tour, Lindsey built a map showcasing the tour’s stops, with location information pulled from Google. “It was only a matter of minutes before I had it all set up and ready to go,” she explains, highlighting the feature’s efficiency

Lindsey’s favorite aspect of the Maps feature, so far, is its simplicity and stability. “The ease of use is huge,” she emphasizes, “and for a newly rolled-out feature, it’s remarkably bug-free.” Plus, she’s also a big fan of the new experience’s natural language search and the upcoming DAM organization updates, which will streamline asset management.

Driving Success Through Partnership

Lindsey highlighted that the bureau’s relationship with CrowdRiff feels more like a partnership than just using a platform. “I love our regular check-in calls and seeing all the creative ways other destinations are using CR,” she noted. “Huge shout out to our customer success manager, Mike Tempest! He’s fantastic, and I really value the feedback loop we have—it means our real-world experience and suggestions actually help improve the platform!”

Thank you, Lindsey, for taking the time to share your insights!
